If you have not already, we certainly hope that you will choose to participate in the MSSC community! The MSSC certification systems have taken many years and millions of dollars to develop and would not have been possible without our community participation!
With your help, we are now able to offer courses, texts, instructors, test centers, assessments and credentials to millions of students and front-line workers (entry-level through first line of supervision) in all sectors of manufacturing and supply chain logistics. These culminate in the industry-recognized, nationally portable MSSC-Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certification, the Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certificate and the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) Certification.
We would like to thank again, the 4000+ workers, 750+ companies, and 400+ subject matter experts (SMEs) who contributed hours of their time in the development of our manufacturing and logistics standards. All of you helped to make these the “Gold Standard” in defining the core competencies and basic technical skills for manufacturing production workers and for material handlers in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transportation.
Industry-defined, nationally validated standards remain the foundation of MSSC’s assessment and certification systems. In 2001, our standards were federally recognized by the National Skill Standards Board. We have since updated those standards and added supply chain logistics standards. MSSC standards still serve as the substantive framework for DoL’s Employment & Training Administration’s “Advanced Manufacturing Core-Competencies” model and the DoED’s “Career Pathways” model for Advanced Manufacturing.
We continue to need your help! The long-term vision of the MSSC is to train, assess and certify a substantial portion of the nation’s production and supply chain logistics workforce against high performance skill standards. This workforce includes incumbent workers, students, career changers and dislocated workers. We believe the outcome will be a larger pool of workers with the right skills to enhance the innovation, productivity and competitiveness of U.S. based manufacturing.
We sincerely welcome you to our community,
Leo Reddy
